zoeva-sun-power-palette-review

Zoeva brushes are amazing and you guys know how much I love them. What about their makeup range? Usually I get a little skeptical when brands that specialise in brushes branch out to produce makeup products. Would the formula and textures be great? Similar to Sigma, I was skeptical at first but was pleasantly surprised of the quality of their shadows when I tried Sigma's Warm Neutrals Palette! (I did a review, which you can check out here!)

Will Zoeva be the same? Had to test it out! I have heard pretty decent reviews on their individual blushers so I was pretty excited. Thus, I purchased the Zoeva Sun Power Palette as I figured why not try more instead!

This blush and contour palette comes in a typical matte black plastic casing (similar to that of Coastal Scents). Inside, you get 10 shades with each pan having the diameter of about 4cm so you do get a good amount of product! Just by looking at the palette alone, all the shades have a warm undertone and there is only 1 matte shade (middle, top row). So, it is kinda shimmer overload and the palette may not be as versatile as I thought it would be.

Let's take a closer look at the shades :

1st 4 shades from the left
Remaining 6 shades
There are an equal of 5 blusher and 5 bronzer shades in here. Pretty decent range of selection!
Here are some swatches in natural daylight:

Overall, this palette is pretty much a hit and miss. Some shades were pretty good but then there were some that were pretty horrible when it comes to pigmentation - I had to really swatch it a couple of times for the swatches to show on my arm during photo taking. The textures of the individual shades vary as well, so it is hard to give general thoughts of the palette as a whole when it comes to quality. I've broken it down per individual shade (below) :

The bronzers are mostly shimmery so it works well if you want to add some bronzy glow all over your face for that sun-kissed look. The matte brown shade does work pretty well for contouring but be careful with this shade as it can look muddy if you're not careful! The blushers are decent and they do complement peachier and warm toned eye makeup! I love to pair the pinkish coral shade (bottom row, all the way to the right) with my go-to bronze smokey eye.

After playing with this palette for about 2 weeks, I have to say that there are other blush and contour palettes out there that have better overall pigmentation and quality. I'm not sure if I got a bad bach but the misses stand out way more than the hits for this one, so I probably would not recommend this (sorry Zoeva!).

Here is a comparison of the Zoeva Sun Power Palette and the Coastal Scents Blush Palette (just in case you were wondering) :

Rating: 2.5/5

I purchased mine off Luxola for SGD $32 which you can check out here.

Hope this review helped! I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have this palette as well!
Once again, thank you for reading!
Have a great makeup day ahead! Xo.
