Review | Simply Aesthetics Oxycious Treatment

Wednesday, July 01, 2015

Recently, I had to pleasure to try out the newly opened Simply Aesthetics Oxycious Treatment so I am sharing my experience with you today.

Simply Aesthetics is located at Capitol Piazza, a stone's throw from City Hall MRT Station so it is really convenient to locate. The facilities are extremely modern and the equipment used in treatments are non-invasive and latest in the market.

Did I also mention that they use colour-changing hydro-massage beds? It was extremely comfortable!

The entire facial took about 3 hours as my extraction process was pretty lengthy. If not, I assume it would take around 2 to 2.5 hours.

1. Removal of makeup. Nothing too unique about this step, but the specialist was extremely gentle which is definitely a plus.

2. Application of a bubble foam gel cleasner to cleanse the skin. This felt really interesting! I've never experienced such sensation before. It applies like a normal gel but it starts to bubble and foam up on your face. It reminded me of the "fizz" in soft drinks!

3. She then applied a mask to soften the dead skin and for easier extraction later on.

4. The specialist then proceeded to "suck" out the dead skin cells using a special technology that utilises water pressure. It simply uses the pressure to free the dead cells and the machine will subssequently "suck" it out! This left my skin feeling really smooth and it works for easier extraction later too.

5. She then proceeded to the extraction process. This is my most dreaded part of any facial as my tolerance for pain ain't the best. Instead of using the traditional metal tools for extraction, she used a vibration tool that utilises the vibrating movement to push the whiteheads or blackheads to the surface for extraction. It hurts but I believe it to be less painful than the traditional method of extraction.

6. Next, she applied an ampoule (or booster) onto the skin and massaged it in with a cooling tool that felt really great after all the pain from extraction!

7. She then moved on to the Oxygen Jet Peel (image above), where pressurized air is used to add nutrients to the face and to lock in the booster into the skin (while gently exfoliating at the same time). It was painless and felt soothing and cooling on the skin.

8. Lastly, she applied a face mask - for hydration and to help control acne, followed by a cleanse, tone and moisturise.

Overall, this experience was very enjoyable. The rooms provided were a good size (great for those of us who are claustrophobic!) and the hydro-massage bed was amazing. I liked the use of their new non-invasive technologies as I've never encountered such before. My skin felt really smooth after too!
